羅杰·??思{,中國工程院外籍院士、英國皇家工程院院士、歐洲科學(xué)院院士、環(huán)境水力學(xué)專(zhuān)家。也是卡迪夫大學(xué)榮休教授,河海大學(xué)、長(cháng)江保護與綠色發(fā)展研究院講席教授。羅杰·??思{教授主要研究方向有水環(huán)境影響評估;洪水風(fēng)險建模和減災;潮汐和河流可再生能源裝置和結構研究;全球水安全分析。他通過(guò)集成和整體數學(xué)模型開(kāi)發(fā)和應用,開(kāi)創(chuàng )了從流域到海岸(C2C)的水管理解決方案;他還開(kāi)發(fā)了用于預測供水接觸池消毒過(guò)程的模型CONTANK,并與相關(guān)公司合作開(kāi)發(fā)了用于預測一維與二維洪水高度和淹沒(méi)范圍的改進(jìn)模型。羅杰·??思{教授已在與水利工程相關(guān)的期刊和會(huì )議發(fā)表了400余篇論文。

Roger Falconer is a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, and a renowned expert in environmental hydraulics. In 2022 he was awarded the Chinese Government Friendship Award – “the People's Republic of China's highest award highest award to foreign nationals. He holds the title of Emeritus Professor at Cardiff University and serves as Chair Professor at Hohai University, as well as at the Yangtze Institute for Conservation and Development. Professor Falconer's primary research areas encompass water environment impact assessment, flood risk modeling and mitigation, research on tidal and river-based renewable energy devices and structures, and global water security analysis. Through the development and application of integrated and holistic computational models, he has pioneered water management solutions from catchment to coast, known as C2C. He has also developed CONTANK, a model that predicts the disinfection process in water contact tanks, and collaborated with industry partners to refine models for predicting one-dimensional and two-dimensional flood heights and inundation extents. Professor Falconer has authored over 400 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conferences focused on hydraulic engineering.
