莫查德·奧茲博士,物理學(xué)士學(xué)位和化學(xué)工程博士學(xué)位,1990年至2020年任職于澳大利亞聯(lián)邦科學(xué)與工業(yè)研究組織(CSIRO),期間晉升為首席研究科學(xué)家,從事大氣科學(xué)與建模、排放管理及二氧化碳捕集等環(huán)境領(lǐng)域研究,20204月加入新南威爾士州政府并統籌該州大氣科學(xué)研究工作,聚焦全球能源結構轉型下面臨的能源-環(huán)境治理挑戰,開(kāi)創(chuàng )性提出排放控制與建模(涵蓋溫室氣體與非溫室氣體量化管理、大氣化學(xué)機理與污染物遷移轉化建模、細顆粒物動(dòng)態(tài)評估)、碳中和技術(shù)創(chuàng )新(如二氧化碳捕集與資源化利用技術(shù)、智能城市空氣質(zhì)量模型開(kāi)發(fā))及政策協(xié)同研究(包括新興污染物監測、能源政策與環(huán)境法規交互機制分析)三大關(guān)鍵方向,研究成果為工業(yè)界與政策制定方提供了多尺度污染減排的科學(xué)依據,推動(dòng)地方、區域及全球層面政策協(xié)同實(shí)施,助力聯(lián)合國可持續發(fā)展目標(SDGs)中清潔能源與氣候行動(dòng)目標的實(shí)現,并為開(kāi)發(fā)可持續能源應用模型、優(yōu)化智能城市設計及制定減污政策奠定了跨學(xué)科基礎。

Merched Azzi, B.S. in Physics, Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering. Between Oct 1990 and March 2020, Dr Azzi joined the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia where has been promoted to become Chief Research Scientist. Dr Azzi has been an active scientist leading research in atmospheric science and modelling, Emissions Management and CO2 capture and the environment. Since April 2020, Dr Azzi has joined the New South Wales Government to lead the atmospheric research area in the state.

Dr Azzi identified research that would be most useful and applicable to energy-environment management challenges facing Australia and the world during an unprecedented change in the energy mix. He initiates research topics to generate fundamental science and insights into the effects of technological advances in achieving energy and environmental goals. Dr. Azzi has been very active in research related to control and management of GHG and non-GHG emissions, atmospheric chemistry and modelling, fine particles, air quality studies including modelling and assessment of emissions. Dr. Azzis research initiatives address research topics such as emissions and measurements of emerging pollutants, atmospheric fates of pollutants, CO2 capture and utilization, advanced air quality models for air quality forecasting and for the development of sustainable energy applications and smart-city design, and interplay between the energy sector and environmental policy and regulations. His research has provided the scientific knowledge required by industry and regulators to work together towards implementing the appropriate policies for local, regional and global pollution reductions.
